Render agricultural research and the development of information systems with regard to agricultural and natural resource utilization technologies and information with regard to crop production, animal production and resource utilization, the programme aims to ensure the competitive capacity of its clients.
Purpose
To improve agricultural production and environment through conducting ,facilitating and coordinating research and technology development
The sub-programme must ensure that overaching research and development activities required for policy coordination and environmental planning is undertaken. Also ensure sustainable development and resource use through conducting ,reviewing and collaborating with environmental and biodiversity research.
Services
Research on animal production, crop production, veldt management, ecology, protected species, monitoring of veldt etc.
Functions
To conduct, facilitate and co-ordinate agricultural research
Develop/adapt and or transfer appropriate technology to clients
Participate in multi-disciplinary agricultural/environmental development projects
