Handing over cleaning and planting tools

The community of Delportshoop welcomed the Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform to host an information session this week. The presentations during this session were given by Ms. A Mekgwe and Mr. M Noko. Ms. Mekgwe, from the pollution and waste unit, was tasked with informing the community about waste management and what role they can play in minimizing waste in their community. Mr Noko, on his part, advised the attendees on the different types of snakes, spiders and scorpions; how to identify them, what to do when encountering these species and the steps to take if they are bitten by any of them. At the end of the session, the team also handed over cleaning and planting tools to the residents of the Delportshoop Old Age center where the activities of the day took place.
