Earlier this month, the National Department of Forestries and Fisheries and the Environment had a three-day Good Green Deeds Campaign in the Pixley ka Seme district. Supported by our Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform, the team visited three towns (Hanover, De Aar and Britstown) in the district. About 10 schools received a visit during the campaign. These schools each received 10 shade trees as well as gardening tools, a presentation on the importance of our environment and the high school students were also given career advice. Various households also received home food garden starter packs.
