Ms. E. Groeners: Awareness Raising Communication Unit.
As part of commemorating Women's Day, the Goegap Nature Reserve in the Namakwa District organized young and old to visit the Reserve.
The importance of the visit by the Springbok and surrounding areas residents to the Reserve was to promote the facilities to the locals. It also seeks to empowered women especially NGO's who are playing vital role in abused and HIV women.
The Goegap Nature Reserve is nestled 15 km South-East of Springbok and covers approximately 15000 ha. The Reserve boost and encompasses itself the typical granite koppies and sandy plains of Namakwaland. The typical Namakwa vegetation which occurs in the Reserve consists mainly of variety of plants with short life span. The Reserve also pride itself of about more than 580 plant species that have been recorded.
The community and learners were spoiled for choice with various educational and entertainment to their enchantment by the Awareness Raising Communication Unit.
The Unit also used the opportunity to visit the aged at the Huis Harmonie Care Centre for the elderly in Bergsig.
