Various farmers converged under one roof in Tsineng in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality to be equipped on how to improve their farming, farm productively and profitably.
Departmental officials presented and discussed a number of topics to a packed Tsineng community hall. The discussions and presentations included making livestock production sustainable and its contribution to the food basket. Departmental research unit official, Mr Tshepisho Sedumedi, challenged government and the South 32 Mine to not create a dependency syndrome for farmers. Farmers must take responsibility for what they are doing. He challenged farmers to play an active role in learning the basics of keeping their livestock healthy which includes knowing when to dose, tattooing and supplements.
