EPWP Celebration & Phase 5 Launch🎊

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). In celebration, the Northern Cape Province hosted a provincial launch and graduation ceremony for EPWP beneficiaries at A.R. Abass Stadium in Kimberley.

Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul and MEC of Roads & Public Works, Ms. Fufe Makatong, coordinated the event, setting the stage for the Certification Ceremony & Phase 5 of the programme as well as outlining its goals and key focus areas.

The Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development & Land Reform has been instrumental in supporting the EPWP by employing individuals across research stations as well as at the provincial nature reserves through the Environment and Culture Sector.

Mr. Ignatius Henrico Booysen, a newly appointed Senior Field Ranger at Doornkloof Nature Reserve and an EPWP beneficiary, shared his gratitude for the programme. He said in his testimonial, "Opportunities do not discriminate. They know no colour or gender. If you stay committed, success will follow. Use the short-term employment opportunities provided by the government through the EPWP as a stepping stone to achieve your dreams."

The department remains committed to enriching the lives of the community it serves. Through initiatives like the EPWP, it works towards building a modern, growing, and successful province.
